Of course you can link to just about anything in your blog post. Hyperlinking a keyword phrase in a blog post works great for getting even more backlinks. You can add banners with your link as well in your blog posts or on your blog.
Then it all comes down to traffic. Getting as many visitors to your blog will make the difference in how much you earn from it. This is no different than building a website except that social marketing has really given you many options for getting more traffic via social directories like Digg.com, Reddit.com and others.
There has been much discussion about making money from your blog. I personally see nothing wrong with it. Unless you are financially independent you have to make money for the work you are doing. Blogging is not hard physical work, but it does take time. Getting paid for your blog posts, and having your blog reviewed takes effort on your part. So you should be rewarded for that.
Blogging is a lot f fun, Getting paid to have people review your blog posts is fun. Getting paid to review other blogs can be profitable if you work at it. This is just another way to make money online blogging.
