This is that night where all her girlfriends get together and do all the things that single girls do. Now, whether the night is tame with a visit to the nail salon and then drinks afterwards or a little more risqué with a visit to the strip club and then dancing all night, a bachelorette party isn’t a bachelorette party unless gag gifts and condoms are involved. • Remember that scene in “Steel Magnolias” when Shelby’s brothers decorate her going-away car with “rubbers” right before the wedding? Well, that might be a little raunchy for a wedding, but not a bachelorette party. Instead of wasting the condoms by blowing them up for decorations for the car, why not spell out the bachelorette’s first name in the rear window with packaged condoms in her favorite color?
• When bagging up your gift for the bachelorette, instead of lining the gift bag with tissue paper, just throw in a few handfuls of colorful packaged condoms to spruce up the gift.
• At a bar, my husband and I once saw a girl out with her friends celebrating her bachelorette party. Her friends had taped lifesaver candies all over her shirt and she wore a sign that said “Bite off a lifesaver for one dollar.” Needless to say, drunken men were jumping at the chance to get close to a beautiful girl the night before her wedding, so the bachelorette was raking in some dough and many men had fresh breath that night. Why not change the scenario up a bit and instead of taping candies to her shirt, tape packaged condoms to it with a sign that reads the same thing. It doesn’t hurt to send out a public service announcement about safe sex and get some green out of it at the same time.
• Balloons will liven up any party, so instead of using regular balloons, fill some colorful condoms up with helium for decoration. Your bachelorette can even walk around with her colorful bouquet all night making it easier for the party to stick together, since she will be easier to find.
• What girl doesn’t love a new set of earrings? At a local craft store, buy plain undecorated earring inserts that have a flat surface on one side. Using double-sided adhesive, stick a colorful condom package onto the flat part of the earring to make some condom earrings. Avoid using a glue gun to adhere the condom to the earring so that you do not destroy the condom inside. You could also attach a few condom packages to a piece of string and make a condom necklace for the bachelorette to wear all night.
